Pokémon X & Y to Receive Exciting Upgrades
Revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct, GAME FREAK and the Pokémon Company have announced a bunch of exciting new additions to Pokémon X & Y. The first of many is that X & Y players will not just be choosing one starter as their travel companion but two with the second being from the original trio we remember from Red, Yellow and Blue.
Players can now choose not only from Fennekin, Chespin or Froakie but Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle but that’s not all. The original starters will also come with their own Mega Evolutions! Being included to the ever growing list of Pokémon with the ability to Mega Evolve, these nostalgic partners are given the same ability once fully raised to Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise only by using a Mega Ring that contains the Key Stone which triggers the Mega Evolution.
Wait, the amazing news doesn’t stop there. The Nintendo eShop is being upgraded with new software able to be used with any Pokémon game in existence called the Pokémon Bank. It allows users who purchase the software to store and deposit up to an incredible 3,000 Pokémon (up to 100 boxes worth) online. To add your old but still beloved Pokémon to the mix, players are also receiving the PokéMover program able to transfer Pokémon from previous games and save files. The PokéMover will eventually cost users $5 US but will be released as a free trial soon after X & Y hit the shelves.
One more addition to all these incredible upgrades, GAME FREAK and the Pokémon Company has not stopped there. To make this process a bit easier, working in conjunction with the Pokémon Bank, the PokéTransporter app will be added to simplify the transfer process between devices.
With all this software coming out roughly around the same time as X & Y being released, the Pokémon community has grown extremely excited and can’t wait for one of their favourite games to become even better. Pokémon X & Y is due to ship worldwide for 3DS on October 12th.
