Review: New Star Soccer 5
New Star Soccer 5 was released in August 2011. I played all the previous versions so I was very curious about this new release. If you don't know New Star Soccer 5, it's a game where you control a football player. You have to train your player, do interviews, play matches, go out with your friends, sign sponsorship deals, go to the casino, find a girlfriend... and much more! You start as a young football player and you'll have to work your way up until you are a big international star! You can play as a keeper, defender, midfielder or attacker.
When you start your career, you have to train, train and train! You can train your player on 7 different skills like pace, flair, tackling, shooting, and others. The first games you play can be quite frustrating because your player is lacking skills. But keep training and you'll get better and better. You'll score more goals and you'll earn a transfer to a better club.
The match engine of New Star Soccer 5 is 2D but it's very enjoyable. I advice you to use a controller, it's much easier then playing with your keyboard and you will have more control of the ball.
If you play badly, you'll get in trouble with your boss and with your teammates. You have to play at a decent level, otherwise you'll be moved to the bench. If your mood is too bad, and you hate your boss, you can request a transfer.
The only thing I don't like about New Star Soccer 5 are the fake clubs and players. He doesn't have a license to use real names and there is no editor. But besides that, it's an excellent game which you can play for many hours.
It's now free to play, so you can play 5 matches each day. If you want to play more matches, you'll have to buy a premium account.
